What is specialist support coordination?
Specialist support coordination is the highest level of support coordination the NDIS funds. It’s for people whose situation is complex and needs a specialist approach. At Maverick Supports, it’s designed for people with complex psychosocial disability, so they can get the most out of their NDIS plan.
How is it different from standard support coordination?
The NDIS funds three levels: support connection, coordination of supports and specialist support coordination. The first two help you use your plan and connect with providers. Specialist support coordination adds a higher level of expertise for high or complex needs, working closely with health, community and support services to keep your supports stable. How do I know if my NDIS plan includes it?
Look in the Capacity Building section of your plan. When the NDIA has funded it, specialist support coordination is listed under Support Coordination. If your needs have become more complex and it isn’t in your plan, you can ask the NDIA to review your plan.
What will my specialist support coordinator do?
Your coordinator gets to know your needs and preferences, then builds a personalised strategy with you. They help you understand and use your plan, connect with healthcare providers, support workers and community services, and work through difficulties in your environment so your support network stays consistent and stable.

Yes. You choose who provides your supports, and Maverick Supports is a registered NDIS provider.
