Maverick Supports: Our Story
Our Commitment
Maverick Supports is a Sydney based mental health and disability support company that was formed by a devoted and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who is enthusiastic about improving services for people with complex psychosocial (mental health) and disability challenges which affect their everyday lives. Our founder, Kara, has spent over 15 years campaigning for and supporting people with disabilities. We are currently focused on supports in the Western Sydney, South West Sydney, Illawara and Southern Highlands areas.
We promise to innovate how the industry supports your psychosocial needs, starting with how we support you. We strive to do what we say, how and when we say it. We are solution-driven to give you what you need, and help you when you don’t know what that is. Psychosocial disability isn’t who you are, it’s just the label needed to support you to be the best version of you.

MEET THE TEAM
Kara Dario is a Behaviour Practitioner (Core) with Insightful Impact and a management consultant in the community services industry, with a focus on Not-For-Profit organisations. She has over 15 years of experience in community services, having handled positions such as strategic management, executive leadership, and administration of complex specialist disability accommodations.
Kara’s knowledge in auditing and compliance improves her attention to detail and reporting abilities. She has also overseen regional teams for the NDIS deployment and works as the Public Officer for The Blue Butterfly Institute, which helps victims and survivors of sexual trauma. Kara, who has substantial life experience in disability and mental health assistance, is committed to accomplishing tough results and empowering individuals via a compassionate “why not” approach.
